Akagera National Park fees at a glance

Akagera charges entry per person, and the amount depends on your visitor category and how long you stay. Entry covers the self-drive game drive. It does not automatically cover the vehicle fee, a guide, accommodation or other activities. The rates below are from the 2026–2027 tariff in US dollars for foreign visitors and Rwandan francs (RWF) for Rwandan and East African Community (EAC) citizens. Check the current amount before you book. A tour listing says whether park fees are included, and the Akagera safari page shows how the options combine.

Children up to and including 5 years pay no entry and no activity fee. Ages 6 to 12 pay the child rate, and from 13 the adult rate applies. If you stay overnight inside the park, the second and third night each cost 50 percent of the base rate. After 3 nights there is no further entry fee for up to 1 week in total.

The park sends an invoice or an online payment link and confirms after payment. For bookings more than 1 week ahead, you can pay in advance by bank transfer.

For a day out of Kigali, the day trip page shows how the hours fit together. If you want to sleep in the park, camping fees are above and the accommodation page shows where.
